As you open the door to the living area at Daisy Chain, you will be wowed by the fabulous views across the lake. This sets the tone for your holiday. It’s time to relax, unwind and enjoy. This wonderful space, with its vaulted ceiling and wood burning stove provide the perfect atmosphere for gathering family and friends together. Wander out onto the balcony with a coffee and listen to the reeds whispering, watch the breeze rippling the water, glimpse the birds diving and just be.
The fully equipped kitchen has everything from cast iron casseroles to gin glasses, an ice bucket to a coffee machine. Perfect for easy family meals and anniversary celebrations around the large oak dining table. We’ve thought of everything so that you don’t have to.
On the ground floor you will find three bedrooms and the family bathroom. A kingsize room with ensuite bathroom has sliding, glazed doors leading to the sun deck and wonderful views of the lake. As you draw the curtains in the morning you are greeted by the sun rising over the trees on the far side of the lake. It’s very special. Drink it in as you enjoy your morning cup of tea. The single bedroom also enjoys this view, while the twin room is at the front of the house. The bunk bed room is located on the first floor and with its full sized beds is fun for any age.
What makes Daisy Chain so family friendly?
At Daisy Chain we haven’t just ‘ticked a box’, provided a high chair and said that the holiday home is family friendly. We think we have thought of just about everything that a family travelling with little ones might need. After all, the holiday home has been tried and tested many times by us as our little ones have grown up. As an example of the detail we have thought of, let’s talk about meal times.
Yes, you’ll find a high chair…but not just one…there are two. And there are booster seats too for when your toddler is too big for the high chair but not quite tall enough to sit on a dining chair. And then there’s the cutlery and crockery. There are melamine plates and bowls, plastic cups and sippy cups, suction bowls and pelican bibs. There is children sized cutlery. There’s a microwave steriliser and a stick blender. You get the idea. This attention to detail is carried on throughout the house.
There are stair gates – at the top and bottom of both flights of stairs. We know how important sleep is, so as well as providing cots (one wooden and two travel cots) the curtains also have blackout linings and there are additional suction blackout blinds that you can add to keep it extra dark! For bath time there is a baby bath, an angelcare bath support, bath toys, non-slip bath tiles, a changing mat and toddler step stool for reaching the basin.
When it comes to playtime your little ones will have fun finding more and more toys. From a baby gym and bouncy chair for our youngest visitors to a wooden train track, Happyland village, toy garage, duplo and puzzles, books and games galore, there really is something for all ages to enjoy.
Those visiting without little ones don’t need to worry that they are going to arrive to find children’s toys strewn in every room. There is a brilliant tardis sized ‘family cupboard’ where lots is stored to keep the house clutter free.
And importantly, before you arrive at Daisy Chain you’ll receive a comprehensive digital Welcome Guide which details everything that is provided, so you don’t have to spend hours squeezing everything into the car, only to arrive and find that you needn’t have packed it.
Delightfully cocooned away from the rest of the house, on the second floor there is a master bedroom with a kingsize oak bed and oak furniture and again features a vaulted ceiling. It also boasts its own en-suite shower room. This room looks down onto the living area below and out to the lake beyond. It’s an ideal retreat away from the hustle and bustle of family life and perfect for Grandparents!

What makes this lakeside holiday home different?
There are other houses to rent on the Lower Mill Estate, but we (and our visitors!) think that Daisy Chain is a little bit different. When you walk into Daisy Chain you are not just walking into an empty house. You are walking into a home carefully crafted to enable you to make the most of your holiday. Lots of little extras to make your stay that much easier, and that much more fun – there is even a Canadian Canoe (and of course buoyancy aids) for your use. You won’t be charged extra for anything – including use of the Canoe, high chairs, cots etc. You will enjoy one of the best views on the estate. Lots of the houses are positioned on smaller lakes with houses built all around them, so the houses ‘look’ at each other. You won’t look out at anyone…just a beautiful ever changing lake with trees beyond…and kingfishers, herons, and egrets flying past!

It’s time you had a Cotswold Family Holiday at Daisy Chain on the Lower Mill Estate.
The most family friendly accommodation you’ll ever have stayed in.
First and foremost, the property was immaculate. Cleanliness is a top priority for us, and we were truly impressed by how well-maintained everything was. It immediately set a positive tone for our stay.
The amenities at the property were also remarkable. Our kids had an absolute blast in the soft play area, and the football area provided hours of fun. As parents, it's crucial to have activities for our little ones, and this property had it all. The fact that we could enjoy great coffee and pizza just added to the overall convenience.
The highlight, however, had to be the stunning view from the property. We were captivated by the picturesque scenery, and the log-burning fire provided the perfect cozy ambiance to enjoy it. We spent countless evenings by the fire, making lasting memories.
In short, we had an amazing time. It offered a perfect blend of comfort, fun, and relaxation. We couldn't have asked for a better holiday experience.
