With the summer well and truly with us, now is a perfect time to make a visit to Cotswold Lavender, set in the heart of the beautiful Cotswold Hills. There’s nothing quite like the beautiful scent and vibrant purple haze. A wonderful way to spend a summer’s afternoon.
Cotswold Lavender is a 45 minute drive from the Lower Mill Estate in Cotswold Water Park.
Snowshill Lavender Farm is a family run farm that has been run by the same family for three generations. It has a beautiful setting in the Cotswold Hills, overlooking the Vale of Evesham. Lavender was first planted at the farm 15 years ago and it thrives on the free draining limestone soils. The lavender farm boasts over 35 varieties of lavender in 70 miles of rows – that's 250,000 plants altogether! Once harvested the lavender is steam distilled on the farm to make a unique range of lavender products.
This year the lavender farm is open from 13th June – 9th August. There is something magical about walking through rows of lavender. The colour in the lavender is not quite at its best yet, so keep an eye out for updates on the Cotswold Lavender blog http://www.cotswoldlavender.co.uk/info/news/ before planning your visit.
