What's your favourite marmalade?

What's your favourite marmalade?

January is traditionally the month for making marmalade with Seville Oranges in season. There are so many different flavours of marmalade around. Multi award winning Artisan Kitchen make their jams and preserves my hand in small batches in a large copper pot in the heart of a small Gloucestershire kitchen. They make a variety of marmalades including Blood Orange, Orange Bergamot and Lime, Lemon and Vanilla Vodka, Pink Grapefruit and Lemon, Summer Citrus and of course Seville Orange. Which is your favourite?

The Artisan Kitchen – delicious preserves handcrafted in Gloucestershire

The Artisan Kitchen – delicious preserves handcrafted in Gloucestershire

Multi award winning Artisan Kitchen is a wonderful company making delicious preserves the old fashioned way. Their jams are homemade in small batches in a large copper pot in the heart of a small Gloucestershire kitchen. But that hasn't stopped them making a big splash in the world of jam making – their preserves are even stocked at Selfridges. This year Great British Food Magazine has recommended their Blaisdon Red Plum Jam as an alternative to Cranberry sauce. They write, "It might seem a bit odd using a plum ham with savoury food, but the sharp tangy flavour of Heritage Blaison red plums is a perfect match for Roast Turkey."

GLOUCESTERSHIRE AT ITS BEST

We had to share these stunning pictures of Gloucestershire with you. Jenny took them late on Sunday afternoon after we'd spent a few hours packing internet orders. They were taken from Coaley Peak, which is on the edge of the Cotswolds and just a few miles from Tetbury. Dark clouds and mist were rolling in, but in the winter sunlight you can make out the silver thread of the River Severn in the distance, and Cam Long Down looking like Gloucestershire's version of Table Mountain.
