As promised the view of the kingfisher from behind. The colour really does have to be seen to be believed! In case you missed it I posted his front view yesterday! I'm hoping to be able to take some more photos of this amazing bird soon.
A few days ago I finally got to take one of the photos I've always wanted to take…a kingfisher…close enough to be recognisable as a kingfisher on the photo! It was a wonderful moment…and he even turned around so I could photograph his back too – I'll share that tomorrow! He's not as in focus as I'd like him to be…but not bad for a first timer! Cotswold Water Park is a wonderful place to see kingfishers.
This bank holiday weekend is the perfect time to get out and about and enjoy wildflowers. Many woods are carpeted in bluebells, while meadows are yellow with cowslips. The first orchids are just coming into bloom and hedgerows are full of blossom.
Why not grab this free Woodland Wildflower Spotter Sheet from Plantlife.org and see how many wildflowers you can spot today? http://buff.ly/1KF5w18
