Selsley Common is a site of Special Scientific Interest, with wonderful views across the countryside. Driving through the common is a little like driving through the New Forest, with cattle, rather than ponies, roaming free. The famous Cotswold Way footpath runs across the Common. The large open common is a rich habitat and during our visit there were more skylarks than we have ever seen in one place! It was lovely to hear them and watch them against the blue skies. Unusually, we were also able to find where they were on the ground. This one posed nicely!
