So far this year 174 different bird species have been recorded in Cotswold Water Park. This Bearded Tit was photographed over the weekend by local wildlife photographer Dave Soons. An amazing photograph and his first sighting of a Bearded Tit. This species is on the amber watch list, with the population vulnerable to servere winters. There are only 630 breeding pairs in the UK. They are usually seen flying across the top of reed beds making Cotswold Water Park an excellent habitat for them. The 40 square miles of the Upper Thames Valley is made up of mixed farmland, shallow wetland, sandly cliffs and reed beds.
