Common Lizards in the Cotswolds

The common lizard is the UK's most widespread reptile. September is a great month for spotting these lizards basking in sunny spots on warm days. The common lizard is variable in colour, but usually brownish-grey. It usually has rows of darker markings down the back and sides. Common lizards have recently been seen at Blakehill Nature Reserve, just down the road from the Lower Mill Estate. Why not take the children lizard spotting – ours love it!
