A fitting autumn poem for National Poetry Day

Each bird and stone, each roof and well,
feels the gold foot of autumn pass;
each spider binds with glittering snare
the splintered bones of grass.

This excerpt is a poem called 'Field of Autumn' written by local author and poet Laurie Lee.It sums up the lovely autumnal feeling we're starting to experience in the early mornings at the moment.
